Susan Dedeaux, Certified Veterinary Technician.  Susan graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College, and has been working at Punta Gorda Animal Hospital for 25 years.  She is currently obtaining her certification as a veterinary practice manager.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening and sewing.  She has 4 dogs: Batman, Patty, Ivy, and Madison. 

Kelly Grutto, Dental Technician.  Kelly has been working at our practice as a Technician for ten years (Her specialty is Dentistry) . She was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and moved here in 2005. Kelly has been working with animals officially for nearly twenty-five years, although she has been rescuing all sorts of creatures since she was a child. She also works as a rehabber for Peace River Wildlife Center. You may often find her toting around a litter of baby opossum, mice, piglets, etc. She is a true lover of all animals. She shares her home and property with (All Rescued Animals) two senior dogs: Martha 13y Pitt/Border collie mix and Wendell 15y Pointer mix, Five cats : Bilbo (Maine Coon), Jimmy and Samuel (Manx littermates) , One-Eyed Harvey (looks like a Turkish Van), and Pretty (Her husband’s baby) is a Black DMH. They range from 2 – 18y, Maynard and Weezer are piggies and the list goes on…. Un-releasable birds, rabbits, and animals in the process of rehabilitation and baby animals waiting for release. Her time out of the office is spent with family (Angelica at the front desk is her Daughter) and her many animal friends.

Megan Winter, Certified Veterinary Technician. Megan has been working at Punta Gorda Animal Hospital since 2011. She graduated from Charlotte High School, and has an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College. She enjoys advocating for animals as well as emergency medicine. Megan also works as a CVT at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic when she is not working here.  In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, fishing, and photography. All of her fur babies have been rescued - She has a Jack Russell named Buster, a Border Collie named Penny, a pitbull mix named Ellie, a pitbull puppy named Piper, 2 domestic short hair cats: Casey and Winston, and an Exotic Shorthair cat, Petunia.

Jessica Malasics, Veterinary Technician. Jessica has been with Punta Gorda Animal Hospital since 2014. She has her B.S. Degree in Wildlife Biology and is currently enrolled at St. Petersburg College in their Veterinary Technology Program. Her favorite part of the job is assisting the doctors with surgical cases. In her spare time she enjoys four-wheeling, hiking, and reading.  She has an Australian Shepherd named Phi, and 2 domestic short hairs- Jasmine and Kovu.

Shannon Hash, Technician/Receptionist. Shannon has been in the veterinary profession for 14 years. She graduated from Desoto High and took a Veterinary Technician course through Harcourt International Schools. Her professional interests include radiology, surgery, and dentistry. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her children and family, as well as boating and caring for her animals. Her pets include a mischievous french bulldog named Nikko, a moody english bulldog named Pudgy, 3 rescue kitties-Butterscotch, Hi-Way, and Bobby Long Tails, 2 horses-Najah and Britches, a bearded dragon named Falcor, a guinea pig named Chewy, a tortoise named Morla and 8 chickens.

Angelica Grutto, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant. Angelica has been working at Punta Gorda Animal Hospital since 2011. She is a part time college student at Florida Southwestern College, and is working towards her Associates degree. She enjoys playing trumpet in her church band as well as animals and art. Angelica paints custom pet portraits, which can be viewed in our clinic. She has a Beagle named Lacey and 3 cats, named Miles, Marceline, and Mallory.

Megan Drake, Veterinary Assistant. Megan has been working for Punta Gorda Animal Hospital since 2011, but started interning through the Veterinary Assisting Program at Charlotte High School in 2010. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 2011. Megan's favorite part of her job is caring for hospitalized pets and loves being able to help save animals; she couldn't imagine herself doing anything else. She enjoys speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Megan has 2 dogs: Chloe and Addie & 2 rescued cats: Claire and Jax.  She also has a rescued pot bellied pig named Jimmy Dean.

Amber Rose, Certified Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Tech. Amber started interning with us through the Veterinary Assisting Program at Charlotte High. After graduating, Amber started working part time with us, and attending college classes as well. Amber is working towards becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking, fishing, and going to the beach. She has 3 dogs- Alex, Beau, and a 3 legged dachshund named Tipsy.

Jane Gingerich, Hospital Administrator. Jane recevied her business degree from University of Iowa. Her primary responsibility is keeping our practice financially healthy and maintaining the safety of our clients, pets, and staff. Caretaking of the physical environment and comfort of all who enter our practice is of great importance to her. Our vision here at Punta Gorda Animal Hospital is creating high quality medicine and service while showing compassion and empathy for all of our patients, clients, and team members. She strives to keep this as her personal goal as well. Her hobbies include traveling, gardening, and visiting her grandchildren. She has two rescued four-legged kitty children: Moxie and Sunny, and a rescued Chihuahua named Ava.
